A message from the author:

I’m a daughter of a now-retired elementary school teacher. My mom taught in Kansas and Texas for about 25 years. Being a daughter of an educator has taught me a lot of things about the challenges and joys of being a teacher, but these are my top three lessons from being a teacher’s daughter:
1) Classroom pets will inevitably become our family pet (We had Oscar the salamander and Henrietta the rabbit for years!)
2) Teachers appreciate “free stuff”!
3) Teachers feel immense joy when she or he has connected a student to an amazing book.
As a children’s author and daughter of a retired elementary school teacher, I try to find ways to support teachers. So, my mom and I created downloadable, printer-friendly worksheets and discussion questions to accompany each of my books. Please feel free to use them with your book clubs or classroom instruction.
The worksheets focus on my books: Gaby, Lost and Found; Allie, First At Last; Me, Frida and the Secret of the Peacock Ring; and Lety Out Loud.
I hope they support you as you strive to promote reading in your classroom, schools or book clubs.
