THE UNBOXING
Whenever a new book is about to be released, the publishers send authors a box of books. For many of us, it’s the FIRST time we get to touch and feel the book. It’s a special moment. There are all kinds of videos out there of authors opening boxes for the BIG REVEAL! It’s exciting.
Still, I wasn’t expecting a box of LA LUNA EMBRUJADA (THE CURSED MOON) to arrive so soon. It was a SORPRESA!
My day went like this: I went for my morning walk, had my cafecito, and sat down to write for a new project. Later this afternoon, I had a wonderful virtual visit for Mayor Buddy’s BOOK CLUB in Orlando, Florida. We talked all about The Cursed Moon. The students had wonderful and thoughtful questions. When the virtual visit ended, I was still in my writing room and I heard my brother arrive. We had made plans to grab dinner and then decorate my front yard for Halloween. Anyway, I stepped out of my writing room and there it was: A BOX FROM SCHOLASTIC.
Luckily, my brother caught the whole box of books excitement on his phone. Check it out. And big gracias to my hermano for celebrating with me and recording this special moment.
