I LOVE the cover of my upcoming novel Me, Frida and the Secret of the Peacock Ring. The cover art designed by award-winning illustrator, Rafael López, is absolutely beautiful and perfectly captures the flavor of Mexico and mystery that permeates the story. For me, the best part of Rafael’s stunning cover art, is that it shows the main character’s face.
My last two book covers didn’t show the young protagonists’ faces. Maybe that seems like a small thing, but it means so much to me. I could go on and on about it. The big takeaway from this beautiful book cover is this: I’m grateful to Rafael López for his stunning work and the Scholastic design team for their support.
