Book Cover Reveal Day!!

My next children’s novel, The Cursed Moon, will hit bookstores in September! But the book cover reveal is TODAY!!

Book cover reveal day!

The Cursed Moon is the scary children’s story I’ve wanted to write since I was a kid. Actually, the novel’s plot is inspired by a scary story I once told my friends on a sticky hot summer night. Now, thanks to Scholastic Press, it’s a full-fledge book and I’m revealing the epically scary book cover today!!!!

Wait for it!

Book reveal on it’s way!

Keep scrolling!

ABOUT THE STORY

The Cursed Moon is about eleven-year-old Rafael Fuentes, a young scary storyteller. Rafa loves writing ghost stories, reading scary books, and entertaining his friends with terrifying tales he creates. Rafa has come up against enough real-life scary situations that fictional hauntings seem like no big deal. When Rafa learns that his incarcerated mom is being released from jail early, and will be coming to live with him, his sister, and their grandparents, Rafa is suddenly afraid for his and his sister’s future.

To take his mind off his mom’s return, Rafa spends an evening crafting the scariest ghost story he’s ever told. As an eerie blood moon hangs in the sky, Rafa tells his friends about The Caretaker. The Caretaker is an evil ghost who lures unsuspecting kids into a neighborhood pond. . . and they don’t ever come out. Rafa is really proud of his latest creation, until strange things start to happen around him. With a sinking feeling, Rafa fears that he has brought the ghost to life―and only he can stop him.

WHO CAN READ THE CURSED MOON?

Anyone who likes a bone-chilling scary story with lots of heart. It’s appropriate for children ages 8 and up. I wrote this book especially for all the elementary school students I met during school visits who told me they LOVE scary stories and can’t get enough of them! This one is for them!

Are you ready for The Cursed Moon book cover reveal?

Are you sure you’re ready?

Beware! Only scroll further if you want to be scared!

Stop now! If you don’t want to be scared.

No turning back now!

Book cover reveal for THE CURSED MOON by Angela Cervantes

ABOUT THE BOOK COVER

The Cursed Moon book cover was created by artist/illustrator Melissa Castillo along with the super talented Cassy Price from Scholastic’s design team. Yay! In my opinion, they did an epic job matching the cover art with the book’s haunting tale and ghostly woodland setting.

My favorite bits of the book cover are the sinister tree limbs, the eerie blood moon, and the little cat running aside the two main characters, Rafa and Brianna, as they ride away on a bike. 🙂

What do you think about it?

Thank you to everyone for the love and support of Thank you to everyone for the love and support of my latest novel The Cursed Moon and its book birthday yesterday. Putting a new story out into the universe is always a stressful time for me because I want everyone to love the novel as much as I do, but for people to find and love my book means that I have to tweet, shout, sing, pose and put myself out there. Even still today, that’s tough for a shy girl like me who prefers to hide behind a notebook and write. So here I am—book #8—hoping what shine I have is enough. 📖 ❤️ #thecursedmoon #readbrave 👻 #inkandwindmills #authorsofinstagram #kidlit #readlatinx #representationmatters #latinapower 📖 🌺 🔥
